The Development of History and Identity in Central America
June 18, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
$5Presented by Christopher Muscato, Adjunct professor at UNC Department of History
The building of museums helped shape the national history and ethnicity of Central America, and Christopher Muscato looks back in time to examine the origins of the artifacts. The presentation follows the history and development of Central America through the colonial period and into the early years of the republics. The debates and questions about creating national identities and national histories impacted Central America as a region and as individual countries.
Non profit MAIA (Denver) [education of rural Mayan girls in Guatemala] will speak about their nonprofit prior to the presentation.
