Farming couples from Kongpo, in southeastern Tibet, dressed in their finest garments to attend dances and special events. Men typically wore dark silk pants and robes (chubas), trimmed in silver brocade. Women wore complementary sleeveless brocade tunics, over a long-sleeved pink silk blouse and dark silk dress. Couples also wore similar earrings, necklaces, and round woolen and brocade caps—the women’s slightly tipped to one side.
