Enjoy a winter wonderland and authentic German-style holiday market in the Mile High City on Saturday, Dec. 14, without the hassles of driving and parking. The round-trip excursion from Fort Collins, Experience the Denver Christkindlmarket Tradition, has been organized by the Global Adventures club at the Global Village Museum. Participants will experience the region’s only authentic Germany holiday market and shop for unique, finely-crafted artisan gifts as well as enjoy tasty treats sold by local and international merchants in charming wooden huts. Reserved tables in the Festival Hall will be available midday, with table service for traditional Germany food and beverages. The Festival Hall is renowned for its live entertainment and dancing. The Museum’s Global Adventures offerings focus on learning and sharing information about the world and the many opportunities to discover, explore, and protect it. Hosts for the adventure will be Alice and Daniel Owen, who are frequent visitors to the Christkindlmarket. Participants will meet at the Harmony Park and Ride in Fort Collins at 9 am on Saturday, Dec. 14, to travel by van to the Denver market, returning to the Park and Ride by 5 pm. Tickets are $60 per person, and reservations and signed waiver are required by 5 pm Wednesday, Dec. 11. As the Christmas market is outdoors, registrants should dress for the weather, and participants are asked to bring a cell phone to maintain contact with the group.
