In celebration of Juneteenth, the Global Village Museum invites families to a special Juneteenth Read-Along and art session on Wednesday, June 18, from 10 am to noon. The event begins with a reading of picture books such as Sulwe by Lupita Nyong’o and I Love My Hair! by Natasha Anastasia Tarpley, celebrating themes of self-love, identity, and cultural pride. After the stories, children will participate in an arts & crafts session — older children will create self-portraits, while younger ones enjoy themed coloring pages. This joyful event celebrates culture, community, and individuality through storytelling and art. Admission is $5 per participating child (free for Museum youth members), and all materials are provided.
