Panama and the Canal Zone & The Panama Canal’s Newly Completed Third Set of Locks
July 16 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm$5
Klaus Lorenz has traveled to 99 countries spanning all the world’s continents. He traveled to Panama for three weeks in November 2017, and his presentation will discuss the history, geography, and population of the country as well as his visits to unique locations.
Dan Gessler worked on the final hydraulic performance testing of the third set of locks at the Panama Canal. He will discuss why the new, larger locks were constructed and how they use less water than the older, smaller locks. The newer locks work using only gravity flow without pumps.
